The latest discussion from the SPC is that everything is on track for a squall line to develop and discrete individual cells to form in front of the line.  

All severe weather hazards are expected with the storms this afternoon/evening which will include the potential for 75+ mph wind gusts and a couple of strong (EF2+) tornadoes.

Somewhere in the scalloped area is where a tornado watch will be issued soon.

The time of the greatest risks will be 4 PM - 8 PM

...A Significant Severe Weather Outbreak is Expected Across West Tennessee this Afternoon and Evening...

A strong upper level disturbance, an associated cold front and a very unstable environment are expected to contribute to a significant severe weather outbreak beginning late this afternoon and continuing through the evening hours. Tornadoes, including some potentially strong tornadoes, very large hail and damaging winds are all possible. Heavy rainfall and flash flooding will also be possible.

The latest high resolution short-term models show isolated severe thunderstorms will develop late this afternoon. The thunderstorms will become more numerous over the following few  hours. Then, a line of severe thunderstorms will cross the Mississippi River around 6 PM and the severe weather risk will ramp-up associated with the front.  There are a few simularities to the March 30th outbreak with damaging wind and at least three tornadoes.

It would be wise to be in a substantial structure beginning late this afternoon and remain there until the line passes.  Have your safe place ready to used if needed later today.
