The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* In West Tennessee, all counties EXCEPT Lake.

* Through Monday evening.

* Periods of heavy rainfall associated with training thunderstorms
  could cause flash flooding across portions of the Mid South.
  Rainfall rates of up to 2 inches or greater per hour should be
  expected in the watch area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with
  locally higher amounts will be possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Memphis has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include all counties in west Tennessee, including the following areas, in West Tennessee, Benton TN, Carroll, Dyer, Gibson,
  Henry, Obion and Weakley.

* Until Midnight CDT tonight.

* Periods of heavy rainfall associated with training thunderstorms
  could cause flash flooding across portions of the Mid South.
  Rainfall rates of up to 2 inches or greater per hour should be
  expected in the watch area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with
  locally higher amounts will be possible.

* Portions of North Mississippi and West Tennessee, including the
  following areas, in North Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton MS, DeSoto,
  Marshall, Prentiss, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo and Tunica. In West
  Tennessee, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin,
  Haywood, Henderson, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Shelby and
  Tipton.

* Through Monday evening.

* Periods of heavy rainfall associated with training thunderstorms
  could cause flash flooding across portions of the Mid South.
  Rainfall rates of up to 2 inches or greater per hour should be
  expected in the watch area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with
  locally higher amounts will be possible.

Slow-moving thunderstorms continue to drift across parts of the Tennessee Valley and Mid-South this aftn. Rainfall rates of 2+"/hr are likely to persist, producing 2-3" of rainfall with local amounts above 5". Flash flooding is likely.

...Heavy Rainfall and Flash Flooding Possible....

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage as we head into the afternoon. These thunderstorms will probably produce rain rates of up to 2"/hr. This could result in total rainfall amounts of 2-3" of rain with locally heavier amounts. Flash flooding will be possible. However, widespread flash flooding is NOT expected but localized flooding is a concern.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect thru midnight tonight, The watch area could be expanded based on how the rainfall evolves as the day wears on.
