Light Wintry Mix is Possible Sunday Morning and into the Early Afternoon Hours

304 PM CST Sat Mar 2 2019

Weakley-Henry-Dyer-Gibson-Carroll-Benton TN-Lauderdale-Crockett-

A late season arctic airmass will drop down into northern portions of the Mid-South on Sunday. Ongoing rain will mix with snow and sleet as cold air pushes into the area from the north. However, surface temperatures are expected to remain a few degrees above freezing, so little to no wintry weather accumulations are expected at this time.

Any lingering precipitation will move out by late afternoon. Thereafter, temperatures will rapidly fall into the 20s after sundown. The combination of strong northerly winds and cold temperatures will drop wind chill temperatures into the teens around midnight and eventually into the single digits by Monday morning.
