WINTER STORM WARNING BEGINS AT NOON & & WIND CHILL ADVISORY UNTIL NOON TODAY

.A potent upper level trough will move into the Mid-South later
this afternoon into Monday evening. Very cold temperatures are
already in place and winter precipitation is expected to fall
across the entire Mid-South. Light wintry precipitation will begin
to move in as early mid to late afternoon. During the afternoon
hours, heavier precipitation will spread into the area continuing
into the evening. A brief lull will then occur before a second
round of heavier precipitation moves in on Monday.

We shouldn't focus on snow amounts forecast as much as the impacts and preparation for the storms this week.

With that said storm total for sleet and snow accumulation...along and north of I-40: 5 to 7 inches. South of I-40: 3 to 5 inches.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible and is
strongly discouraged. The cold wind chills could result in
hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY...

    - For the Wind Chill Advisory, very cold wind chills expected.
Wind chills as low as 5 below zero.

    - The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
