Hazardous Weather Outlook

Today and Tonight

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will occur this
afternoon and evening, with brief periods of locally heavy
rainfall, mainly south of Interstate 40.

Sunday through Wednesday

Tornadoes associated with tropical cyclone Barry will be possible
Sunday afternoon and evening, mainly over northwest Mississippi,
southwest Tennessee, and east-central Arkansas.

The risk of flash flooding will increase substantially on Sunday
and Sunday night, as bands of moderate to heavy rain lift through
the Midsouth. Areas with the greatest flash flood risk include the
Memphis metro area and surrounding areas of southwest Tennessee,
and the Mississippi River delta. Locally heavy rainfall may
continue through midday Monday. Light to moderate rain will be
possible through Wednesday.
