**FLASH FLOOD WATCH**

...Excessive Rainfall from Tropical Cyclone Barry Will Bring an
Elevated Risk of Flash Flooding Sunday and Monday...

.Tropical cyclone Barry will lift north through Arkansas Sunday
night and Monday. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms
will occur this afternoon and evening, with brief periods of
locally heavy rainfall creating a slight risk of flash flooding.
The flash flood risk will increase substantially on Sunday, as
widespread moderate to heavy rain bands lift into north
Mississippi Sunday morning. These rain bands will continue
advancing north through the remainder of the Midsouth Sunday
afternoon and evening. Heaviest rainfall is expected over the
Mississippi River delta and the Memphis metro area late Sunday
evening into early Monday morning. Storm total rainfall through
Tuesday may reach as high as 8 inches over northwest Mississippi
and east central Arkansas. While the heaviest rainfall will likely
taper off Monday, additional light to moderate rainfall is
expected on Tuesday, which may necessitate an extension of the
Flash Flood Watch at a later time.
